研究生公共外语部隶属于外国语学院，旨在满足上海大学大力推进研究生国际化培养的需求。研究生公共外语部负责全校非英语专业研究生的学术型硕士、博士研究生的公共英语教学工作，培养研究生运用英语进行学术研究、学术写作和学术交流的能力，以满足研究生的专业学习和国际交流需求。
研究生公共外语部现有在职教师10人，其中副教授3人，讲师7人，学历均为硕士或博士，所有教师均有海外访学或进修的经历。
研究生公共外语部为硕士生开设的课程为《学术综合英语》，为博士生开设的课程为《学术交流英语》，另开设写作坊，定期为研究生提供一对一的论文写作指导。
本部门教师爱岗敬业，精诚协作，具有较强的进取心和责任感，在教学和科研上取得了优异成绩。2021年，本部门获得“外国语学院优秀团队”的荣誉称号。先后在《外语与外语教学》、《外语教学理论与实践》、《外语教学》等CSSCI刊物上发表论文多篇；主持国家社科基金项目、中华学术外译项目等国家级和省部级课题多项。
The Department of English for Postgraduates
The Department of English for Postgraduates is affiliated to the School of Foreign Languages and aims to meet the needs of Shanghai University to vigorously promote the internationalization of postgraduate training. The Department is responsible for the teaching of English to all non-English major postgraduate students in the university, cultivating the ability of postgraduate students to use English for academic research, academic writing and academic communication, in order to meet the professional learning and international exchange needs of postgraduate students.
The Department currently has 10 teachers, including three associate professors and seven lecturers, all with master’s or doctoral degrees, and all of them have overseas visiting or further study experience.
The Department offers the course “Comprehensive English for Academic Purposes” for master’s students and “English for Academic Communication” for doctoral students, as well as a writing workshop to provide regular one-to-one thesis writing guidance for postgraduate students.
The teachers in this department are all dedicated to their posts and work hard, cooperate sincerely, have a strong sense of initiative and responsibility, and have made outstanding achievements in teaching and research. In 2021, the Department was awarded the title of “Excellent Team of the School of Foreign Languages”. The Department has successively published many papers in CSSCI journals such as Foreign Languages and Foreign Language Teaching, Theory and Practice of Foreign Language Teaching and Foreign Language Teaching, etc.; presided over several national and provincial level projects such as the National Social Science Foundation and the Chinese Academic Foreign Translation Project.
